About Us
Gillenwater Consulting, LLC is an environmental consulting firm specializing in the management, monitoring/assessment, and restoration of aquatic ecosystems. We also assist clients in navigating the environmental permitting and CEQA/NEPA compliance processes for a variety of projects, and provide comprehensive geographic information system (GIS) services. Our geographic focus is California and northern Utah, but we welcome the opportunity to provide our services to clients throughout the United States and beyond.
Since our founding in 2014, Gillenwater Consulting has provided federal, state, and municipal entities, non-profit land management organizations, and private businesses with high quality and affordable solutions to a wide range of natural resource management issues. We take pride in our high quality work products, attention to detail, and personal attention that we give to every client and project. While we are a small firm, our network of collaborators allows us to build a team capable of tackling projects of varying sizes and complexities. In addition, we often work as a subcontractor to other firms to bring our unique skill set to their project teams.
Dan Gillenwater is the principal environmental scientist and GIS analyst at Gillenwater Consulting and personally manages all projects undertaken by the company. Mr. Gillenwater has 15 years of experience in the fields of aquatic ecosystem science, habitat restoration planning, regulatory compliance, and GIS. His interdisciplinary education background and work experience has given him the robust skill set necessary to develop comprehensive project solutions and to be an effective manager of interdisciplinary project teams. He has demonstrated these capabilities by managing several high-profile aquatic ecosystem restoration and enhancement projects through the entire planning process, from conception to construction. In addition, Mr. Gillenwater has attained recognition as a regional expert in applied GIS technology for natural resource management, and is regularly consulted by government agencies, land management organizations, and private companies on complex GIS issues.
